For a mesh Wi-FI system, the Samsung Connect Home offers average coverage of 1,500 square feet per device. You can connect as many as five total devices to create your network, so you can get the coverage you need -- if you have the money for additional units. You can bring the devices in your home to life with a single command through the Connect App, and enjoy seamless streaming through your optimized WiFi network. A smarter router with Smart Home hub functionality that easily connects compatible cameras, lights, voice assistants and more and lets you control your home from your phone, tablet, or voice.

Samsung Connect simplifies smart device management with automatic connectivity, convenient device integration and easy set-up. Using Samsung Connect, users can easily see and manage connected devices, set parental controls and allow guest access. If throughput performance is key, consider our Editors' Choice Wi-Fi system, the Linksys Velop. It's pricey and won't control your smart devices, but it delivered some of the fastest throughput scores we've seen in testing.

The router is powered by a 710MHz quad-core processor, 512MB of RAM, and 4GB of flash memory. It supports Multi-User Multiple Input, Multiple Output (MU-MIMO) data streaming, which sends data to compatible clients simultaneously, rather than sequentially, and it uses band steering to choose the best available radio band. In addition to dual band Wi-Fi circuitry, each router contains Z-Wave, Zigbee, and Bluetooth radios and a total of seven antennas. Simple setup and unified management – Samsung Connect Home can be set up with easy-to-follow instructions using the Samsung Connect app. The app will guide placement of each Samsung Connect Home device throughout a home for optimal performance.

00 rating is a little on the slow side, offering 400Mbps on 2.4GHz and 867Mbps on 5GHz. The Pro doubles those theoretical speeds with its AC2600 rating, but it won't give you much more speed out of additional regular units. Check out my speed tests below to see how fast each one actually performed.

Both have one LED light on the front that you can shut off from the app. The backs of the units have two Ethernet ports -- in and out -- plus a reset button and an AC port for power. The Samsung Connect Home is an AC1300 mesh Wi-Fi system that doubles as a SmartThings hub.
You can set the amount of time the outlet stays on, or pick the time of day when the outlet shuts off or turns on. The app makes it very convenient and simple to set up automations. One unfortunate feature is that my devices connected to the closest Samsung Connect Home unit, not the one with the strongest signal.

Yes, the “pucks” act as Z-wave and ZigBee repeaters as long as you have recent firmware (it’s a recent improvement)… I assume they support beaming since they have recent Z-wave code, but have no proof.

There aren't any security settings orVPN or network sharing options. Samsung dropped the ball on usability, especially since I couldn't see which band or unit I was connected to, let alone manually switch to find the best connection. The app didn't always recognize each unit if I had to unplug it and plug it back in, so I'd sometimes have to add the unit to the app manually. Holding down the reset button (you'll need a pin, a small nail or a paperclip as it's recessed) on the unit for about 10 seconds when it was plugged in sped up the process when the app didn't recognize it. And completely closing and reopening the app helped sometimes.

But outside of automations, the functionality within the SmartThings hub part of the app is sparse.

I plugged the smart outlet into a wall socket, tapped the + option to add a device, and selected Outlet from the extensive list of compatible devices. I removed the plastic battery tab from the door/window sensor, selected it from the list, and it, too, was instantly recognized and paired to the system. I was also able to pair a Yale Assure SL Z-Wave door lock with relative ease.
It should only take a few minutes to connect each unit, but I occasionally had problems when I was more than 10 feet away from the unit, so stay relatively close to it during setup. The Samsung Connect Home will give you adequate Wi-Fi coverage in a large home, and you can connect SmartThings devices to it without having to buy a separate hub. But for the price, you can find better options such as the AC3000 Netgear Orbi.

So I purchased this and as you know this has a hub built into it. Now is there a way to move everything from my V2 to this hub easily or do I have to remove everything and start from scratch?
